Soleus Air MT1-19-32, Humidibreeze Portable Misting SystemCheck Price
The Soleus Air Portable Misting Fan produces a very cool, fine mist after filling the tank with up to 4 liters of water. This particular misting fan has an internal water tank so there is no need to hook this misting fan up to a garden hose. This fact alone puts the ‘portable’ in the Soleus Air Misting fan’s name!
The portability of the Soleus makes this misting fan wonderful for those of us who have no water source nearby that garden chair on a hot, sunny day. This misting fan is also perfect for camping, tailgating, or boating. It can even be used indoors.
Soleus Misting Fan Pros:
- No water hook-up is needed with the Soleus misting fan so there’s no dragging a hose around to get the cooling mist working for you.
- There are multiple misting settings so you don’t have to have it on the highest mist if you don’t need it.
- You can run this portable misting fan without water and just have a pretty powerful fan which gives off a wonderful cooling breeze in its own right.
- When camping, I found that bugs hate the thing which worked for me. It was more comfortable sitting outside the camper at night without the company of mosquitos.
Cons:
- This misting fan is a tall unit at 23.6 inches so, if you’re camping like I was, it takes up some storage room in your car or camping unit. I still content that toting it along for the ride is well worth the cooling power of the misting fan.
- TheSoleus Portable Misting Fan does not oscillate, but I don’t really find that to be much of an issue. I usually set up my chair about 3-4 feet from the unit for maximum cooling.
Additional author comments:
I live in Maryland and I camp out in my travel trailer frequently. The Soleus Misting Fan is my constant companion. My experience is that, on the hottest day this summer (about 95 F in the shade), the misting fan, working on a medium mist, kept me cool for between 2 to 3 hours on one water fill up, depending on the humidity of the day (note: on the highest misting, one tank of water will last about an hour). Humidity does affect the cooling power of any misting fan – more humid weather drops the temperature less than on dry days.
I’ve found that the misting fan can drop the ambient temperature by as much as 25 degrees. And, the mist that it puts out is so fine that neither myself nor my computer got wet – that’s a big bonus for those of us who like to use the computer outside. I frequently set it up so that it mists both myself and my dogs who would otherwise be panting in the heat. Their fur does appear to get a bit damp but that’s just the nature of the beast (pun fully intended).
